Camp

Camping is a proud part of our Girl Scout heritage and Girl Scouts have been camping since the organization's beginning. Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas prides itself in offering a multitude of both outdoor and indoor camp experiences. There are many different ways that girls may participate in camping. They may decide that they want to spend a week at resident camp or try a day or twilight camp, or attend one of our special weekend camping activities. Whatever camping experience a girl may choose, she is sure to walk away with memories that will last a lifetime.

Objectives of camping are to:

Promote the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being of all the campers, both girls and leaders
Provide experience in community living
Develop and promote resourcefulness, initiative, self-reliance, responsibility, and other leadership skills
Develop and enhance an individuals appreciation and understanding of the environment around her
Promote an awareness of health and safety in all areas
